Authentic Mexican food with lots of flavor. Staff and owners are really nice and funny. So delicious I couldn’t stop eating. Great value too, my full dinner came out to $14 and the chips and salsa are free.

Great food. Coming from Houston we had high hopes... And all were answered here.

Marg was good and nachos were okay.

Food is on the pricer side, but I guess it's because it's all organic. Food is delicious. No complaint whatsoever.

Hot spot in Telluride. The food is as authentic and delicious as it can get. There is complimentary chips and deeping. I had tacos, which were riquisimos.

Consistently high quality, locally sourced, and carefully prepared Mexican food. Hardworking staff and both indoor and delightful outdoor patio seating complete with fountain and flower wall. Daily specials are particularly delicious, and don’t miss the homemade ice cream!

Come here!One of the best authentic feeling Latin stops you can find - the personable host brings a wonderfully inviting and relaxing taste of culture to the Rockies. Stop in for amazing plates, solid fresh-mixed margaritas, and what might be the best chips and salsa I've had inside US borders. A shady alcove off the street let those of us that are noise sensitive to step away from the hub-bub of the bustling streets. Prices are on par for Telluride. Our favorite part was the taco bar. With a purchase greater than $14 it is included. Chips,onions, cilantro, pico, a variety of salsa, veggies, and sour cream. We split the two tacos with two side. The pork and chicken taco seemed to be similarly seasoned. The side veggies with garlic were on point and the side salad was topped with perfectly seasoned jicama. Front and back patio seating. Order at the counter. They also have ice cream...we got one come with split flavors. It was perfect!

Wasnt that excited about Mexican food because there are like 10 of those on every town BUT La Cocina De Luz is different. Their food has a lot of flavor. Might seem pricey when you look at the menu but their portion sizes are more than generous. Definitely will come back and try their soup.

Favorite spot in town! We frequent this place due to the healthy options almost always being super fresh and delicious. Love the homemade chips and salsa bar. The outdoor patio seating is dog friendly and the staff not only seem to love dogs but are always friendly and welcoming even when they are busy. Cool art displays inside and lots of great vegan options!

Had one of the best burritos ever on Oct 1. Was not sure at all what to get on my burrito, but Sanders at the counter helped me build it. Took his time and gave me great customer service--and a great burrito. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

A relaxed and chill environment, with really great food. Staff was friendly enough, but I expect they were having a busy night for a Saturday and were a bit overwhelmed. Since that seemed to be the case and the food was really great, I don’t have any second thoughts giving them a well deserved five star review. Plus, they have ice cream - what’s not to love about that after a great dinner/lunch??

They have inside and outside seating. Inside is a little warmer. The machacha tacos were delicious. I was told they had guac on them but mine didn't. I tried someone else's guacamole and boy did I miss out. It's delicious. The chips are free too and have a grest salsa bar. The chips are think and have a super yummy seasoning on them. Prices are pretty good compared with what we've been paying everywhere else. My husband loves carne asada but didn't love it here. He said it was still good but would try soemthing different next time.

Best meal in Telluride! I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. I ate the carne asada enchiladas with red and green sauce and they made me cry because they tasted so amazing. Also, the coffee is a hidden treasure - $3.50 for the perfectly frothy latte in a huge mug. The staff was so kind, and it was a great value for the amount of food they serve. (I didn't think I'd be able to finish it all, but I did because I couldn't stop eating!) You can taste the love that is put into their food. Next time my husband and I are in Telluride, this will be the first place we go!

Cashier was taking shots behind the counter while taking our order, which is fine, but he was distracted and got our order mixed up. My boyfriend is allergic to dairy as well and asked for no cheese and he still got cheese in his burrito. We asked to substitute beans because of my partner’s allergy. They weren’t able to substitute pinto beans for black beans in my boyfriend’s burrito even though I received black beans with beans and rice. The server running around was really nice and helpful, but the cashier was very rude. He was drinking and closing checks the whole time we were ordering and that was probably why the order got messed up.

I am going to miss those amazing house margaritas, ahhh so fresh. Also, food is incredible. CARNE ASADA tacos were delicious as were the Anasazi beans. Quesowas delicious. Homemade chips. Ohhh the guacamole. Enjoyed sitting on patio and people watching. Excellent Covid precautions Great service and a great evening.

Consistently fresh, healthy Mexican. Friendly staff and a wonderful outdoor patio. If you’re ever in Telluride, this is a must!

Recomend good prices chilaquiles are not as spicy like I like it the beans where a little salty but the juice POG pineapple orange and ginger was delicious

Came here during the corona thing. They did a fantastic job at keeping everyone safely spaced, and comfortable in their large outdoor seating area. The food and service was fantastic. Everything I had put a smile on my easy to please face. Enjoy!

La Cocina De Luz is so so good! They have multiple listed vegan options and vegan ice cream! Additionally, they seem to be one of the best bang for your buck places in Telluride without compromising quality. The portions are very large and absolutely delicious. Everything seemed to be very fresh and they have a free salsa and chips bar with a variety of tasty salsas! You order at the counter and bus yourself, but they bring the food out to you. They also had paper straws and take out boxes!! Yay!

The employees working here are straight up rude. Ordered ice cream (which was decent). As we were checking out the employees were gossiping about customers behind us in line. They gave off the vibe that they were “too good” to be working in a service industry. We’re not going to be returning.

The food is pretty good. But I ordered chips and guac and never got it. :(

All I can say is YUM. As New Orleaneans, it's pretty hard to impress us with food but this was done of the best Mexican food we've had. Portions are huge. Would love to come back

Solidly good Mexican. Telluride prices. But order at the bar service so lower tips saves money. Our bartender was awesome. The margaritas are good and poured strong so don’t plan on too many. The green salsa is a smoky delicious surprise.

Casual place where you order at the counter & they'll bring it out to you. Nice outdoor patio area with pretty fountain, flowers, and the birds love to hang out and swipe food that falls on the ground. Really liked that they offered other side choices outside of the standard beans & rice. We tried the horchata, a burrito, a tostada, salad and veggies (cauliflower mix). The salad could have been a bit fresher (lettuce was struggling in places), but the salad dressing was awesome! My husband really loved the salsa bar. Not bad if you want a quick, casual place that won't break the bank.

Lovely location, great flavor. A little heavy on the sauce. Could have used extra freshness on the plate, but the organic goodness was appreciated. Great choice!

Don’t eat breakfast here if you’re vegan. They won’t even try to accommodate you. It was pretty absurd, honestly. Couldn’t even throw a tortilla shell around some refried beans and potatoes. Also, the potatoes weren’t that great - my dog wouldn’t even eat them. And the refried beans were meh.

Family run Mexican restaurant in Telluride, Colorado. Great Mexican food, had breakfast there. Interesting art on the walls by local artists.

Cocina ROCKS IT! ...again!! As a 25 year local, I've been patronizing La Cocina since the beginning. Food in a pinch and fast, if I call ahead (there's sometimes a line). Nice chill dine in (when we had it). Healthy, tasty, filling and with great service.Thanks Lucas and Crew!

Very fast service, it’s mostly Americanized Mexican food, tastes nothing like Mexican food.

Good authentic mexican, our guac was awesome, friendly service, food came out fast, sat outside with a view of the ski slopes, good for a quick bite, right on the main drag.

La Covina Del Luz is a casual Mexican restaurant right in the heart of Telluride. There is no table service you walk up to the counter and select and pay for your selections.The place seemed to be pretty busy all the time. I got the organic Guacamole and it was pretty good not exceptional.

I asked for a dish with chicken cheese or queso and rice. Then I got two of the same plates and the cheese was not even melted. Thanks LaCocina De Luz’s “excellent” service, you have lost one customer and many more to come.
